The Bed to Top All Other Beds…

2015-08-25 19.01.02I’ve promised a post on my new bed for while now, so without further ado, I would like to introduce you to the best bed ever invented…
2015-08-25 18.55.47I’ve wanted a fabric bed for such a long time, so when I moved I decided to treat myself to a brand new bed and mattress. I knew I wanted an ottoman bed as my new room was a little smaller than my previous room so I needed to make sure I was making use of every inch of space available to me. Having narrowed it down to a fabric ottoman bed, I then spent a good couple of weeks researching various places online and looking for sites which would also deliver in a short amount of time, ready for when I moved.2015-08-25 18.59.54I finally found the site time 4 sleep which had a really good selection of storage and ottoman beds. Most places I’d looked at for fabric ottoman beds were around £700+ which was just way out of my budget, so when I stumbled across my bed I thought it was too good to be true! It was also available for delivery in 3-5 days which was absolutely ideal for me – it  meant I could specify exactly what date I wanted and it arrived the day after I moved in.2015-08-25 18.57.19As for the mattress, I didn’t want to buy this online, so about a week before I moved I went round a whole variety of stores with my mum and tried out what felt like hundreds of different mattresses. In the end I found my perfect one in Marks and Spencer’s, they were having a 40% off sale and were also offering 7-day delivery – perfect! Again I was able to pick a day for delivery, so this was delivered the same day as my bed. It was all coming together!2015-08-25 18.55.35I took the Monday and Tuesday following my move off work, so I had time to unpack and for my bed to be delivered. My mattress arrived at an eye watering 7am on Monday morning (!) and the bed frame itself came later on in the day. There was no way I was attempting to put it together myself though, so my dad very  kindly offered to come up and help me put it together on the Tuesday. It really was a two person job! What with all the mechanisms for the gas lift it was pretty complex – I think it must’ve taken us about 3 hours in total, but boy was it worth it! I mean look how bloody good it is!2015-08-25 19.01.02The storage is immense! I don’t think I would’ve actually fitted everything in my room if it wasn’t for this bed! It must’ve tripled/quadrupled the amount of storage available – I cannot recommend it enough. There is just a little tag at the bottom of the bed which you pull up and the whole mattress is raised by the gas lifts. It does require a little bit of oomph, but if I can manage it, then I’m sure most people can!2015-08-25 19.02.20I honestly don’t know where I’d be without it – I love everything about it, the style, the functionality, and the mattress is soooo comfortable – I would never have considered going to M&S, but it was such good value and available for 7 day delivery too which is so rare. I’m so pleased – money well spent!

Next up; new bedding, cushions and throws – any excuse!

  • Woah there! Look at all that storage!!!! Absolutely amazing!

We’ve gone for a fabric bead too and I’m in love with our headboard. It’s so nice to be able to sit up in bed to read. Our last bed head was metal which made chilling out so uncomfortable!

    • I know, right! I don’t think I’ve ever been so in love with a piece of furniture – ha!
Ah yes it’s so much more comfortable to sit against isn’t it. 🙂
I hope you’re having fun in your new place!

  • Ooh, I’ve been looking at Ottoman storage beds in case all goes well with the house I’m looking at buying. The bedrooms are quite small so I’d be looking at trying to maximise storage space in other ways and under the bed is the most obvious way, I love how with yours everything is properly hidden out of sight. Lovely!
