A Curtain Edit

2015-10-18 15.39.41I mentioned in my last home decor wish list that I really needed some new curtains. I was still using the curtains that were in my room when I moved, and they didn’t exactly make the most of the room…
2015-10-07 14.14.52See what I mean… ^^2015-10-07 14.12.53Short, black, and just kinda crappy really. As you can see, black curtains don’t do much for a space!
(I just want to take a moment to mention how difficult it is to take a picture of a window – so much conflicted lighting!)2015-10-07 14.15.22Anyway, I knew I wanted neutral curtains, and I knew I wanted them to be floor length.2015-10-18 15.40.59And look at what a difference they make! ^^2015-10-18 15.43.58They brighten up the room so much and completely open up the space.
Such a bargain as well – cheaper than any other floor length ones I’d seen. I think they were around £40-£50 for 90 inches x 90 inches, which is one of the biggest sizes I could find. They were from The Range, which – if you’ve never been there before – basically stocks a bit of everything, hence the name, The Range. 😉2015-10-18 15.42.47They were actually a birthday present and I’m so so pleased with them, they make a world of difference to the room.2015-10-18 15.41.58I also made myself a couple of little curtain ties from an old necklace. I’m really pleased with myself for this one, I have to say. It took a matter of minutes to do, but it works so well. I had a long necklace with wooden beads on which I hadn’t worn for ages, so I just cut it in half and tied a couple of loops in each end, and voila! Two curtain ties!2015-10-18 15.41.49Well done me 😀

What do you think of the curtain update?
